I thought I'd write a bit since it's been a really long time! Kellan is 2 months old now and just recently realized he had a tounge, which he sticks out often and tries tasting toys and his hands. A few weeks ago he started grabbing and holding onto things, and he's smiling and cooing often. He can hold his head up fairly well and loves to look at the TV and the pictures in books. He's incredible! I haven't had much sleep, even though he's started sleeping for 5-6 hours straight! I'm always worried he's not breathing, so I check on him all the time. I definately do miss sleep.
And a synopsis of his birth...
It was Sept. 20th when I started having non-painful contractions. We were at Marcy St. house watching tv. I'd eaten pineapple, taken a bath, went for a walk, and done alot of nipple twisting! :-) It worked. We went to Lemon Road and went to bed around 9pm. I woke up at 11pm with more painful contractions. I got out of bed and walked through the yard. It was misty and clear with stars and a bright moon. Then I layed in bed until the contractions came 5 mintues apart and woke everyone up. They became much more painful and at 3am, me, Drew, mom, Lindsay, Hannah and Roy went to the hospital. Chelsea came too. The girl at the front desk was really bitchy and they put me in a wheelchair. I was only 2 cm dialated that night and I couldn't believe it! I wanted it to be over quickly. I was awake all night with mom and Drew at my side the entire time. I hated the shower, hated walking and really only wanted to be in my bed. At about 8am I asked for painkillers. At about 11am I got an epidural and felt much better...although I wasn't planning on it originally. It was so exhausting, the epidural helped relax me and I didn't have trouble pushing too much. At 3:30pm, Dr. Dickason helped pull him out with a Vacuum extractor! And he was in my arms as cute as can be. He was, and is, the most beautiful little person I've ever seen.
