Well I've been learning a lot about hormone changes...as apparently I can't sleep! Since about the beginning of February, I haven't had a full night sleep and wake up about 3 or 4 times a night. Sometimes I just lay there wide awake. Then at 5am I lay in bed until Drew's alarm goes off and he starts singing in my ear, some song with ridiculous lyrics that he makes up as he goes. He goes about with so much energy...talking laughing as he makes his coffee...and I sit there looking like I've been around the world and back in 8 hours. Sigh. "They've" told me it's normal. But I don't want it to be normal!!! Sigh.
Another thing I'm going to try is my Grandma's 1980's Cross Country Ski machine...that had never been opened until 2 nights ago. I don't have the electric blue spandex outfit with pink belt and perm to go with it, but it should be a totally rad workout. Since I'm so sleepy, I get on it for maybe 2 minutes then lay on the couch.
Hmmm...nothing much else to report. Yawn. Friday is our 11 week appointment though! The little guy or gal is growing their teeth buds already and developing creases in their arms and legs (elbows and knees)!
Sianara for now...

Not Myself
Well, the past week has been interesting. I all of a sudden have skin problems on my cheek...and I never have my entire life. Apparently this is normal?
This weekend was Valentines day & Drew and I tried to have fun, even though I was throwing up at the Olympia Shell Station and lying reclined in the car while Drew ran around to stores. He bought a fun book for the baby - a comic book of Wizard of Oz. Pretty cool. (I think it was for him just as much as the baby! Haha, he's so cute).
Hmm..what else. Oh, I keep feeling a nagging feeling and cramps in my lower abdomen. Am assuming that is the baby-stuff going on. I can't wait until I actually look pregnant. Then I might actually believe something is in there. Right now it's just been feeling not myself.
Signing off for now!

Food Food Food
I was going to mention - food is either my enemy or my best friend these days. And strange cravings came early. Drew's first Grocery run consisted of Grapefruit,Popscicles and Club Soda - at 9 pm at night! Haha.
I've been craving:
Meat (Tuna, Salmon, Oysters)
Yogurt and Fruit
Potatoes of any kind
I am disgusted by the thought of:
Broccoli
Lettuce
Cookies or processed sugary things
I haven't actually thrown up yet, but I feel so nauseus sometimes it's like being on a tiny sailboat in a storm. Ugh. A tiny bit of ginger in Club Soda helps though.
Oh, and for those of you wondering if I'm "showing" yet. Not really. Sometimes I think I am...but it's just my meal sitting there showing off. It's still only the size of a raspberry...or large pea...I think. I think of it more like a large kidney bean.
But the cool thing is that this week, you can actually hear it's little heartbeat! Even for being so tiny! Pretty cool.

(Week 9 and 1 Day)
9 Weeks and 1 day Today - Our First Post!
I decided it'd be fun to write a blog, so everyone knows how we're doing! I'll do a little recap of the past month or so...
Around the beginning of January, Drew noticed I was acting crazier than usual and became extremely melodramatic. I was even surprised at myself! Haha. Anyway, so one night, after watching Sherlock Holmes in the Theatre, I had the notion to make sure I wasn't pregnant...so that night, January 8th, we found out that I WAS!
I remember Drew's face. He looked like I must've looked when he proposed to me - shocked yet really happy. :-) Immediately afterwards, we both called a few friends and family to tell them the news.
Shortly after that we picked our Doctor after reading a bunch of reviews on MedicalGrades.com. Out of 10, I picked Dr. Laurel Dickason out of Olympia's Capital Medical Center. It turns out...she was my mom's doctor when Mom had ovarian cysts a while back!!! And Mom LOVED her. So that was exciting!
We had our first Ultrasound on January 29th and they deduced that the baby was 7 weeks 2 days old. With a 40 week pregnancy, that means that I'm due around September 15th!
That also means, I'm 9 weeks 1 day today. Click this link to see a 3-D view of the baby. 3-D 9 Weeks Pregnant
