Well I've been learning a lot about hormone changes...as apparently I can't sleep! Since about the beginning of February, I haven't had a full night sleep and wake up about 3 or 4 times a night. Sometimes I just lay there wide awake. Then at 5am I lay in bed until Drew's alarm goes off and he starts singing in my ear, some song with ridiculous lyrics that he makes up as he goes. He goes about with so much energy...talking laughing as he makes his coffee...and I sit there looking like I've been around the world and back in 8 hours. Sigh. "They've" told me it's normal. But I don't want it to be normal!!! Sigh.
Another thing I'm going to try is my Grandma's 1980's Cross Country Ski machine...that had never been opened until 2 nights ago. I don't have the electric blue spandex outfit with pink belt and perm to go with it, but it should be a totally rad workout. Since I'm so sleepy, I get on it for maybe 2 minutes then lay on the couch.
Hmmm...nothing much else to report. Yawn. Friday is our 11 week appointment though! The little guy or gal is growing their teeth buds already and developing creases in their arms and legs (elbows and knees)!
Sianara for now...

Here are some tips from middle-age sleeplessness that might work:
ReplyDeleteTry pressing all the sleep acupressure points and then smiling! I know it sounds weird but smiling releases some kind of happy/restful hormones that makes my face feel foolish enough to finally fall asleep at night.
In any event everything is usually very temporary and will resolve itself soon. As Ryan and Alisa would say--the end result is worth it!
